Mass Killings in Gaza as Part of Systematic Strategy to Empty the Strip

Evidence from Gaza points to a deliberate policy of mass killings designed to force the displacement of those who refuse to abandon their homes. Entire families have been wiped out when their houses were targeted directly, with residents describing these as calculated acts in an ongoing genocidal campaign.

Eyewitnesses report that Israeli forces have systematically gathered civilians within homes before bombing them, a tactic used to terrorise communities and drive them from their land. In Gaza City alone, over 2,360 people, mostly women, children, and the elderly, have been killed in the past month, many buried beneath the rubble of their homes. These figures translate to an average of more than seventy deaths a day.

Ismail Al‑Thawabta, head of Gaza’s Government Media Office, described these attacks as not merely acts of violence, but as a policy of extermination: “This is not a military operation. This is a deliberate policy of genocide. Targeting civilians who refuse to leave their homes is collective punishment and a flagrant violation of international law.” He added that such tactics amount to forcing displacement through terror, with the intention of emptying Gaza of its residents.

Over forty-four days of intensified operations have claimed over 4,200 Palestinian lives. Across Gaza, the pattern of targeting homes continues, deepening the humanitarian crisis. Officials warn that such acts, carried out with the backing of foreign powers, make those supporting the campaign complicit in genocide. They call for urgent action: the deployment of independent investigative bodies, international protection for civilians, and full accountability for those responsible.

Since October 2023, the ongoing siege and bombardment of Gaza have left over 62,000 Palestinians dead, more than 160,000 injured, and tens of thousands still buried under rubble, the living proof of a devastating and systematic campaign of destruction.
