The Palestinian detainee, Saadi Al-Gharably, (74 years), from the besieged Gaza Strip, died on Wednesday morning in the Israeli occupation jails due to the Israeli policy of medical negligence, according to "Waed" Association of Detainees and Ex-Detainees.
The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs said last night that Al-Gharably is still in a state of clinical death, amid expectations that the Prison Authority Administration will lift his breathing apparatus at any moment. In a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Safa News Agency, the commission confirmed that its lawyers were going to head to Eshel Jail in order to find out his condition if this is permitted by the Prison Administration.
Al-Gharably is the second oldest detainee from the Gaza Strip after the detainee Fuad al-Shobaki (80 years old), both of whom have cancer. He was detained in 1994 and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Moreover, he was suffering from cancer and other diseases inside the Ramla Jail hospital but he was neglected by the Israeli occupation.
Gharbliy's family has been prevented from visiting him since 2000. They had called on international and human rights organizations to intervene to release him and save his life but their humanitarian appeals failed despite his worsening health condition.
With Gharably's death, the number of Palestinian detainees who murdered in Israeli jails has risen to 224 since 1967.
It is worth mentioning that Safa News Agency conducted a report three months ago, in which it shed the light on al-Gharably's suffering in the Israeli occupation jails.
