Senior official Husam Badran declared that Hamas’s response to Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan was not unilateral but the product of extensive consultations among Palestinian factions and national figures, reflecting a unified Palestinian stance.
Badran, head of Hamas’s National Relations Office, said the movement immediately launched a broad dialogue following the plan’s announcement, engaging political groups, independent leaders, and civil society to forge a joint national position. He stressed that Hamas remains committed to inclusive talks in Cairo to ensure that any future political steps represent the collective will and interests of the Palestinian people.
He described the events of October 7, 2023, as a defining moment in the Palestinian struggle for freedom and self-determination, asserting that it demonstrated the enduring spirit and resilience of a people refusing to surrender their right to their land.
Badran credited Gaza’s steadfast population and resistance fighters, both living and fallen, for advancing the cause and strengthening unity under immense hardship. He concluded that only through national cohesion can Palestinians continue their march toward justice, liberation, and the establishment of a free state on their occupied land.
