Escalating of violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque despite Coronavirus pandemic

The Director of Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem, Sheikh Azzam Al Khatib, said, on Thursday, that the number of Jewish extremists storming the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque has increased during 2020.

“The extremists raids, which were under the protection of the police and their heavily armed special forces, reached 18526, which turned the mosque into a military barracks,” Al-Khatib confirmed, in a press statement reached Safa.

Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, it was highlighted that all indicators and data illustrate rising in the pace of violations against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings with continuous series of unprecedented abuses during this year.

These transgressions, themselves, constitute a violation of the historical, legal, and religious status in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque as an Islamic mosque for Muslims.

And Sheikh Al-Khatib considered that all the police measures against the employees of the Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem and the guards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, including beating, arresting, deporting, and disrupting the vital projects of the Islamic endowments, are evidences of the police's intent to target and undermine its activities.

“We wish that 2021 would be a good year for the blessed Al Aqsa Mosque and for the whole world by the end of Coronavirus pandemic and the return life to its normalcy,” Al-Khatib said.
