Resistance Reaffirms Commitment to Truce, Pledges to Prioritise Freedom of Prisoners

The main resistance faction in Gaza reaffirmed on Monday its full commitment to the current ceasefire, describing the agreement as a product of the resilience of the people and the steadfastness of those defending Gaza. The group stated that the release of prisoners will remain a central national objective and a symbol of collective endurance after months of relentless suffering.

According to the statement, the truce stands as long as the other side adheres to it. It emphasised that despite its technological and military dominance, the occupying power had failed to secure the release of its prisoners through force. Instead, the ongoing prisoner exchange, long promised by the resistance, has become the only path to their return.

The statement also recalled that efforts to halt the genocidal war had been made months ago but were undermined by political and military interests that preferred vengeance to peace. The resistance argued that had these attempts been taken seriously, many of those held in Gaza could have been returned alive.

Addressing Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons, the group pledged that their freedom would remain an unwavering priority, vowing to continue the struggle until every prisoner is released. The latest stage of the exchange, implemented under the ceasefire deal, saw the release of several detainees, with more expected to follow, a small but meaningful step towards easing the wounds of a nation still enduring immense loss.
