Since the truce that came into force on 10 October, Gaza’s Government Media Office reports that the Government Media Office (Gaza) has documented 194 separate breaches of the agreement by Israel Defense Forces-led forces. These alleged breaches include ground incursions beyond the agreed “yellow line”, aerial or artillery fire into civilian zones, and systematic obstruction of humanitarian convoys.
Aid access appears deeply compromised. Only 3,203 of the 13,200 trucks of relief pledged under the truce entered Gaza in October, just about 24 % of the agreed number. Medicine, tents and heavy-machinery for casualty and rubble clearance also remain blocked.
Observers say these practices reinforce the impression of a continued genocidal war by permitting devastation while denying reconstruction and relief. Given the magnitude of destruction – estimated at 90 % of civilian infrastructure in some reports – the implication is that the truce functions more as a pause than a meaningful cessation.
