Settler Violence Escalates Across West Bank Amid Military Backing

Organised attacks by settler groups in the West Bank have intensified in recent weeks, with reports suggesting coordination with senior Israeli officials. Armed settlers have reportedly carried out over 300 assaults across 90 villages in just 40 days, primarily targeting olive farmers and other civilians, according to local sources. Observers say these actions reflect a wider campaign aimed at exerting control over Palestinian life and livelihoods.

Human rights advocates warn that these attacks, often conducted under the protection of the Israeli military, constitute severe violations of international law. The assaults include physical violence, movement restrictions, intimidation, property destruction, and the use of live ammunition, leaving communities vulnerable and fearful. Data collected for October shows 264 settler attacks, the highest monthly toll in nearly two decades, alongside hundreds of additional incidents involving both settlers and Israeli forces.

Calls are growing for the international community to provide protective measures for civilians facing these daily threats. Analysts highlight that the pattern of violence underscores a systematic effort to disrupt Palestinian communities and consolidate control over contested territories, raising urgent concerns about accountability and the enforcement of international humanitarian standards.
