Brussels to Host Major Solidarity March for Palestine

A new national march in support of Palestine is scheduled for Sunday in Brussels, organisers announced on Wednesday. The demonstration is being coordinated by a coalition of civil society groups, including the Belgo-Palestinian Association (ABP), the Beitna collective, CNCD-11.11.11, and the trade unions FGTB and CSC, who emphasise the need to “maintain pressure on Israel.”

The event will begin at 14:00 with speeches and artistic performances at Gare du Nord, before proceeding at 15:00 along the Petite Ceinture towards Place Jean Rey, with an expected arrival around 16:30. Organisers have specified that only the Palestinian national flag will be permitted and have stressed that the march must remain peaceful, banning any incitement to violence, antisemitism, Islamophobia, or racism.

In a statement, organisers condemned the ongoing genocidal policies in Gaza, noting that despite the fragile ceasefire of early October, Israeli forces have continued bombardments that have killed more than 200 Palestinians since the truce began and obstructed humanitarian aid. They also denounced the regime’s aggressive settlement expansion in the West Bank and its deadly campaign of ethnic cleansing. Previous marches in Brussels have drawn between 70,000 and 110,000 participants, reflecting strong public support for Palestinians amid the ongoing devastation in Gaza, where more than 69,000 people have been killed and over 170,000 injured since October 2023.
