Children in the West Bank Face Rising Danger as Violence Intensifies

Children across the West Bank continue to face escalating violence as this year’s toll rises sharply, with dozens of young lives lost and thousands of families uprooted. Since the start of 2025, killings, home demolitions, and coordinated settler raids have surged across Palestinian towns and camps, creating an atmosphere where daily life has become increasingly precarious. Entire neighbourhoods have been razed, leaving families searching for safety in a landscape reshaped by destruction.

Recent weeks have brought further devastation, with several children killed during military operations and others injured during settler incursions on villages and farmlands. Large swathes of densely populated refugee camps in Jenin, Nur Shams, and Tulkarem have been heavily damaged, as satellite images reveal widespread destruction of homes and community structures. Many residents say the scale of the demolitions has left them feeling as though entire districts are being erased, deepening the humanitarian strain that has grown since the start of the genocidal war.

Beyond the killings, Palestinians face an expanding pattern of land seizures, arson attacks on homes, the targeting of olive harvests, and the confiscation of agricultural assets. Families report being driven from their homes under the pretext of “security”, while nearby settlers are allowed to move freely into the newly restricted zones. Human rights observers note that this tightening grip on land, combined with thousands of recorded incidents involving both soldiers and settlers, is accelerating the fragmentation of Palestinian communities and exposing children in particular to severe and lifelong trauma.
