The Hemaya Center for Human Rights warned on Tuesday of the exacerbating the suffering of Palestinians of Gaza because of the restrictions imposed by the Israeli authorities.
In a statement, a copy of which obtained by Safa Press Agency, the Hemaya Center for Human Rights warned of the exacerbation of the suffering of more than 2 million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip due to the tightening restrictions imposed by the Israeli authorities.
The center considered that the Israeli closure to Kerem Shalom commercial crossing is a crime of collective punishment against civilians in Gaza, confirming that this amounted to an international crime within the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court.
The center warned of the risk of the continued closure of crossings, and the restrictions imposed on freedom of movement.
Moreover, the center denounced the international community’s continued silence on the policy of the Israeli authorities and asked the international community to pressure Israel shoulder its responsibilities towards the civilians of the occupied territories, calling on the United Nations to issue an international resolution to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip.
It also called on Palestinian and international civil society institutions to work in order to form international pressure on the Israeli authorities aimed at lifting the siege imposed on the Strip.
