Israeli Forces Launch Major Operation Across Tubas Region

Israeli forces carried out a large-scale military operation in and around the city of Tubas in the northern West Bank early on Wednesday, deploying reinforcements to the towns of Tammun, Tubas, Tayasir and Aqaba.

The operation, described by Israeli officials as a broad campaign, included extensive incursions, house raids and the forced evacuation of several Palestinian families. Some residential properties were reportedly taken over and used as temporary military positions.

Local residents said roads in and around Aqaba were blocked with earth mounds, restricting movement throughout the area. They also reported heavy helicopter activity, with Apache aircraft flying low over mountainous terrain and firing in the airspace above Tubas.

Separately, Israeli units continued to conduct house raids in the town of Talouza and set up a new military checkpoint on the al-Badhan road near Nablus, further limiting travel in the region.

In light of the continuing operation, authorities in the Tubas governorate suspended work in all public and private institutions on Wednesday, while schools moved to remote learning as the situation remained unstable.

The offensive marks one of the most significant escalations in recent months in the northern West Bank, leaving residents facing heightened insecurity and widespread disruption to daily life.
