Israeli Strikes and Home Demolitions Intensify Across Eastern Gaza

Israeli forces carried out new rounds of bombardment and widespread demolitions across several areas of the Gaza Strip on Sunday morning, extending a pattern of escalating attacks despite the declared ceasefire. Residents in the east of Khan Younis reported bursts of live fire from helicopter gunships overhead, followed by artillery shelling that struck agricultural and residential zones on the city’s outskirts.

Further south, Rafah came under repeated airstrikes as Israeli aircraft targeted parts of the city while armoured vehicles to the north unleashed heavy gunfire. The southern governorates, already densely packed with displaced families, have endured renewed pressure as bombardments continue to push civilians from one unsafe area to another.

In the central strip, an airstrike struck the eastern side of Al-Maghazi refugee camp, adding to the growing number of neighbourhoods hit in recent days. Meanwhile, Israeli troops continued to level homes east of Khan Younis and in sections of Gaza City, leaving families with little more than the rubble of their former shelters.

The previous day saw seven Palestinians killed in separate incidents across the territory, underscoring the rising toll as Israeli forces intensify operations on multiple fronts. The ongoing strikes and demolitions come despite the ceasefire announced on 10 October, which Palestinians say has been repeatedly violated through sustained military actions on the ground.
