Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the U.S House of Representatives stated that he will look into resuming the provision of humanitarian aids for the Palestinians.
Gregory Meeks, the first blackie to preside over the commission, said to France-Press that this might happen in the context of Joe Biden’s policy which supports the Palestine-Israel conflict.
“I strongly support the two-State solution, believe that this is the only guaranteed way to build a viable Israeli country and a peaceful Palestinian state,” he confirmed.
He added, “We might need to activate the program of American aids to the Palestinians to show that the UN is ready to take the lead again.”
Donald Trump’s administration declined in 2018 more than 200 million dollars from the aids provided to the Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank.
It also stopped the American contributions in funding the UNRWA, and cancelled aids of 25 millions dollars for the Palestinian hospitals in eastern Jerusalem.
