Local authorities say the actions form part of a broader effort to consolidate control around Jerusalem, citing repeated closures and demolitions along strategic corridors near the separation barrier. Officials argue that recent claims by Israeli authorities regarding gaps in the barrier’s route are being used to justify increased pressure on surrounding Palestinian communities.

Demolitions are reportedly concentrated on land adjacent to the Qalandiya Training Centre, property that is formally registered under Jordanian state ownership.
