Gunfire and Bombardment Persist in Gaza Despite Truce Claims

Morning calm in the eastern districts of Gaza City was shattered when Israeli fire left several civilians wounded near the Shuja'iyya junction. Witnesses described shots fired without warning as residents attempted to move through already devastated streets, adding to the daily toll borne by a population living under the shadow of a genocidal war.

Across the coastal enclave, the pattern repeated itself. Air raids, artillery fire and sustained shooting were reported from multiple locations, reinforcing claims that commitments to restraint exist largely on paper. Naval vessels were seen shelling waters off the Gaza shoreline, while heavy artillery targeted eastern approaches to the city. The sounds of explosions echoed through neighbourhoods where basic services have already collapsed, deepening fears that the genocide is being pursued through relentless pressure on civilian life.

In the south, armoured units opened fire north of Rafah and shelled areas east of Khan Yonis, as warplanes circled overhead before striking nearby zones. Central districts were not spared, with bombardment reported around Bureij . For residents, the geography of Gaza has become a map of danger, where movement risks injury or worse amid a continuing genocidal war that shows little regard for declared ceasefires.
