Early today, Israeli occupation forces carried out a large scale raid across multiple areas of the occupied West Bank, detaining around 40 Palestinians, including women and former prisoners. Local sources reported that dozens of homes were stormed and ransacked before the detainees were taken to military interrogation centres, reflecting a systematic targeting of all segments of Palestinian society.
The arrests were concentrated in Qalqilya in the north, Ramallah in the centre, and Hebron in the south, alongside multiple neighbourhoods in occupied Jerusalem. In Salfit, three Palestinians were arrested in Bruqin after their homes were searched and vandalised, while two unidentified young men were held at a military tower near Deir Ballut during transit. According to the Palestinian Prisoners Media Office, these operations are part of an ongoing policy aimed at intimidating the population, targeting freed prisoners, women, and youths to destabilise communities.
The raids coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, taking place during Suhoor and Fajr prayers, heightening tensions and unrest. Palestinian officials warned that continued systematic violations are paving the way for the annexation of large areas of the West Bank, in defiance of international law. The international community and the United Nations have repeatedly condemned the occupation’s daily operations and settlement expansion as clear breaches of international law.
