Occupation Bars Third Friday of Ramadan Prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque

Occupation authorities have announced a ban on Friday prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque for the third consecutive week of Ramadan, continuing strict restrictions on Palestinian worshippers in occupied Jerusalem. According to a statement from occupation police, the measures follow orders issued by the so called Home Front Command, which has prohibited public gatherings at religious sites.

Palestinian sources in Jerusalem report that the restrictions extend beyond Al Aqsa itself to include other places of worship within the Old City, effectively emptying the area of Palestinian presence. The Old City has remained under heavy closure for several days, with military checkpoints and security forces preventing many residents and worshippers from reaching the mosque.

The occupation military justified the move by citing an ongoing state of emergency following recent regional tensions. Pro Palestine activists and Palestinian institutions warn that the continued closure of Al Aqsa and restrictions on worshippers represent a serious violation of freedom of worship, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, and form part of a broader effort to tighten control over occupied Jerusalem.
