European Governments Voice Alarm Over Rising Settler Attacks in the Occupied West Bank

European officials have expressed growing concern over a recent surge of violence carried out by Israeli settlers against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, urging Israeli authorities to intervene and ensure the safety of civilians living under occupation. The statements come amid mounting international scrutiny of developments unfolding alongside Israel’s ongoing genocidal war in the region.

In a message shared by the British Consulate‑General Jerusalem, British representatives said they were deeply disturbed by the killing of five Palestinians in a series of settler incidents reported during the past week. The mission called for urgent and transparent investigations and emphasised that those responsible must face accountability under the law.

Similar concerns were raised by the European Union, which urged Israeli occupation authorities to take immediate and effective measures to curb settler violence. European officials stressed that Israel, as the occupying power, bears legal responsibility under international law to safeguard the Palestinian population living in the occupied territory, warning that failure to prevent such attacks risks further worsening the humanitarian situation during an already devastating genocidal war.
