Predawn Detentions Spread Across West Bank Camps as Military Operations Expand

A series of large-scale military incursions swept through several communities in the occupied West Bank early on Tuesday, with dozens of Palestinians taken into detention during raids that targeted residential neighbourhoods and refugee camps. Witnesses described armoured units entering towns before dawn, sealing off streets and surrounding homes while soldiers conducted searches that continued for hours.

In the southern district of Hebron, troops moved into Al Arroub refugee camp and the nearby town of Sa’ir, forcing their way into multiple houses and detaining at least 17 residents following extensive searches. Local accounts said those detained were removed to undisclosed locations as patrols continued moving from home to home, leaving the camp under sustained military pressure throughout the morning.

Further north, in the Ramallah and Al Bireh governorate, additional forces entered Al Am’ari refugee camp from several directions before launching a broad arrest campaign. Initial reports indicate that roughly 20 Palestinians were taken during the operation. Residents said several young men were subjected to violence during the raids, while a number of homes were temporarily turned into makeshift interrogation points, reflecting what observers describe as an escalating pattern of control affecting civilian communities during the ongoing genocidal war.
