Deadly Fallout in Beit Awa Raises Fears for Civilian Safety Across the West Bank

A sombre atmosphere gripped the town of Beit Awa, south of Hebron, as residents gathered to mourn women killed when debris from an intercepted missile fell near a local salon. The funeral procession began at a nearby hospital before moving through the town, where families and neighbours paid their respects amid a sense of shock and anger.

Medical officials reported that several women were killed at the scene, while others sustained injuries, some of them severe. A pregnant woman later died from her wounds, raising the overall death toll. Witnesses described a sudden impact in a civilian area, where there had been no warning, leaving those present with little chance to seek safety.

Health authorities have urged residents to avoid approaching or handling any unexploded debris, warning of the continued danger posed by such remnants. The incident has intensified concerns about the safety of civilians across the West Bank, as the ongoing genocidal war continues to expose communities to unpredictable and often deadly risks.
