Israel closes Rimon prison due to the coronavirus

Detainees and Ex-detainees commission informed that Israeli authorities completely closed Rimon prison after recording a new COVID19 case among the prisoners.

The commission stated that Rimon’s administration moved the prisoner infected with COVID19 into section 8 of the same prison, where there are other 35 patients.

The total number of cases infected with the coronavirus reached 191 since the beginning of the outbreak, most of them were recorded in Jalbou’ prison.

The commission condemned the lack of preventive procedures inside the Israeli jails, and their negligence towards the safety of the prisoners.

It finally emphasized on the Israeli policy of ignorance against the prisoners as it makes them susceptible to the coronavirus and all risky diseases that might lead them to death.
