Ceasefire Erodes as Deadly Strike Hits Central Gaza

A fresh air strike in central Gaza has killed one civilian and injured several others, further exposing the fragility of a ceasefire that has repeatedly failed to hold. The attack struck a group of people gathered near the northern entrance to Al-Bureij camp, where medical teams reported receiving casualties shortly afterwards. The incident reflects a continuing pattern of violations, with bombardment and live fire persisting despite the truce announced months ago.

Across the territory, residents continue to face daily danger as artillery fire, aerial strikes and ground operations intensify, particularly in eastern parts of Gaza’s main urban areas and in the south. What was intended to bring relief has instead become a prolonged period of instability, with civilians living under constant threat. The ongoing genocidal war has blurred any distinction between ceasefire and active violence, leaving communities without meaningful protection.

The overall human cost continues to rise at an alarming rate. Health officials report that more than 72,500 people have been killed and over 172,000 injured since October 2023. Thousands more are believed to remain trapped beneath rubble or in areas too dangerous for rescue teams to reach. With recovery efforts severely hindered, many families are still waiting for news of missing relatives, as the humanitarian crisis deepens.
