A Palestinian armed movement has stated that ongoing actions in Gaza demonstrate a continued failure by Israel to uphold the terms of a ceasefire agreement, despite formal commitments. In a statement issued on Friday, the group maintained that it and other factions had adhered fully to the provisions of the agreement, including the scheduled transfer of prisoners and remains, even as conditions on the ground remained severely constrained by widespread destruction.
The statement alleged that Israeli forces have continued operations under the cover of the agreement, citing repeated incidents resulting in the deaths of civilians, including women and children. It further pointed to tightening restrictions on essential supplies and movement, alongside the limited or largely symbolic operation of border crossings, which it said has deepened an already critical humanitarian situation for the population.
According to the group, these developments form part of a broader genocidal war, arguing that the continuation of military actions despite the ceasefire reflects a disregard for mediation efforts and international guarantees. It described the situation as legally and politically abnormal, noting that millions of civilians remain subject to severe deprivation, with access to food, aid, and basic services heavily constrained.
The statement concluded with a call for mediators and guarantor states to take a clearer and more decisive position, urging them to ensure compliance with the agreement and to press for an end to ongoing violations. It stressed the need for immediate measures to halt further deterioration and to address the humanitarian conditions facing the population.
