Gaza Health Authorities Report 33 Killed and More Than 130 Injured During Eid al-Adha

Health officials in Gaza say at least 33 people were killed and more than 130 others wounded during the days of Eid al-Adha, underscoring the continuing human toll of Israel’s genocidal war on the besieged territory.

According to the latest figures released on Sunday, one body and eight injured people were brought to hospitals over the previous 24 hours. Medical authorities added that numerous victims are still believed to be trapped beneath collapsed buildings or lying in areas that emergency crews have been unable to reach.

Officials also provided an updated overview of casualties recorded since the ceasefire that came into effect on 11 October last year. Since then, they say 930 people have been killed, 2,819 injured and 781 bodies recovered from the rubble.

The cumulative toll since 7 October 2023 has now risen to 72,939 people killed and 172,927 injured, according to Gaza’s health authorities. Medical teams continue to warn that limitations on rescue operations and access to affected areas mean the true scale of casualties may be higher than currently documented.
