Number of Palestinian prisoners infected with Coronavirus in Ramon prison rises

The Prisoners Information Office declared that the number of Palestinian prisoners infected with the Coronavirus in the Israeli Ramon Prison has increased after three new infections were recorded.

The Office said that by recording three new infections, the number in the prison increased 36.

Moussa Dudin, the Hamas official responsible for the file of prisoners, martyrs, and wounded, had warned of the continuation of the Israeli prison administration in targeting the lives of prisoners, following the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic inside prisons.

Dudin pointed out that the prison administration ignored all warnings and human rights demands and continued to disregard the lives of the prisoners, holding the Israeli authorities fully responsible for the lives of every Palestinian prisoner.

It is worth noting that the announcement of new infections brought the total number of prisoners infected with the virus to about 223 prisoners since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Israeli authorities continue to arrest about 4,200 Palestinian prisoners, including 700 patients, 40 of whom suffer from incurable diseases, and ten prisoners suffering from cancer, according to official statistics.
