According to health authorities, a large number of patients are currently stranded inside Gaza, unable to access specialised treatment unavailable locally due to the ongoing genocidal war and the collapse of parts of the healthcare system. They stress that coordinated mechanisms, backed by international guarantors, are urgently needed to ensure safe passage and timely medical referrals outside the territory.

Calls have also been made for the reopening of key crossing points to facilitate medical travel, alongside renewed international pressure to prioritise humanitarian medical evacuation. Officials further urge the reactivation of external treatment coordination offices and greater involvement from diplomatic missions to secure hospital placements abroad for patients in need. They argue that with sufficient political will and coordination, meaningful progress could still be achieved to reduce suffering and prevent further loss of life.
