16 Gaza Detainees Released From Israeli Prisons

SAFA- Israeli occupation forces released 16 Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip on Sunday evening after months in detention following Oct. 7, 2023.

According to a Safa correspondent, the detainees were released through the Kerem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing before being transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah for medical examinations and treatment. Staff from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) accompanied the released detainees.

The ICRC confirmed that it facilitated the release of the 16 detainees from Israeli prisons and their transfer to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza.

Since the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, more than 246,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded, the majority of them women and children. More than 9,000 people remain missing, while hundreds of thousands have been displaced. The war has also triggered widespread famine, claiming numerous lives, including those of children, and caused massive destruction across the Gaza Strip.
