SAFA – Public transportation companies in the Gaza Strip warned that buses transporting Ministry of Health staff could stop operating because of severe shortages of engine oil, spare parts, tires, and batteries.

The companies said several buses are already out of service and cannot be repaired due to the lack of essential supplies. They warned that services could halt without notice, preventing medical teams from reaching hospitals and healthcare centers.

The owners called on the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and other relevant parties to help secure the urgent entry of maintenance supplies.

They also appealed to neighboring countries, particularly Egypt, to facilitate the entry of engine oil, tires, batteries, and spare parts, warning that keeping the buses operational is essential to ensure medical staff can reach health facilities and prevent disruptions to patient care across Gaza.
