SAFA-  Settlers escalated their attacks against Palestinian citizens and their properties in Nablus Governorate early this Sunday morning after they attacked the towns of Qusra and Beit Furik, burned an under-construction mosque, set parts of a house on fire, and wrote racist slogans inciting revenge against Palestinians.

The mayor of Qusra, Abdul Azim Wadi, said that a group of settlers stormed the southern area of the town and targeted the Al-Rahma Mosque, which is under construction, setting it on fire. This led to the burning of the wood, tools, and construction materials inside the mosque site.

Wadi added that the attack caused damage to the mosque, which is still under construction, as part of the repeated assaults carried out by settlers on the properties of citizens and places of worship in the town.

In another attack, settlers stormed the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, and set fire to a Palestinian-owned house, causing parts of it to burn before the residents managed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to the rest of the house.

Security sources reported that the settlers did not stop at burning the house but also wrote racist slogans on the walls, including calls for revenge and retribution against Arabs, in a new escalation of their organized attacks against Palestinians.

The attack comes amid increasing settler terrorism in the West Bank that is often carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. It targets citizens homes, places of worship and Palestinian properties, in a policy of terrorizing the population and imposing further settlement facts on the ground.
