Israel sentences Palestinian prisoner to 14 months imprisonment and a fine

The Israeli Military Court issued a verdict of 14 months imprisonment against the prisoner Nazmi Mahmoud Abu Bakr, 24, from Ya'bad town, southwest of Jenin, in addition to a fine of 4 thousand Israeli Shekels.

Asra Media Office stated that the Israeli forces arrested the young man, Abu Bakr, after raiding his home and destroying its contents on May 13, 2020, during the fierce campaign that targeted his town after the killing of a soldier by a stone. Abu Bakr was transferred to Al Jalamah interrogation center, where he lasted for three weeks before being transferred to the prison.

The Israeli intelligence charged the prisoner, Abu Bakr, with disturbing public security and posing a threat to Israel.

After his trial was postponed 7 times, the Israeli authorities sentenced him to 14 months in prison, of which he has spent 8 months so far.
