SAFA- Israeli settlers have given Palestinian residents of the Ras al-Ahmar community in the northern Jordan Valley 10 days to leave their homes, marking the latest escalation targeting Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

The sources said groups of Israeli settlers raided Ras al-Ahmar, east of the town of Atuf, and warned residents to evacuate the community within 10 days.

Overnight, settlers wearing clothing resembling Israeli military uniforms reportedly raided homes, cut electricity to the eastern part of the community, and tightened restrictions by blocking roads leading to the area, leaving only one difficult access route.

Local sources also warned that a planned road would isolate Ras al-Ahmar from neighboring communities. The development follows the demolition of three artesian water wells by Israeli occupation authorities in Khirbet Atuf and Ras al-Ahmar, further restricting residents' access to water.

The escalation comes amid a broader land-clearing campaign in the Al-Baqi'a Plain and Atuf that began earlier this year as part of what Israeli authorities call the "Crimson Thread Project." The plan includes the construction of military roads and a separation barrier across large areas of Tubas Governorate and the northern Jordan Valley.

According to local sources, the land-clearing operations have damaged major water networks, uprooted trees, and cut off irrigation to nearly 30,000 dunams of farmland, about one-third of the Al-Baqi'a Plain, threatening one of the occupied West Bank's most productive agricultural regions.

Palestinian sources say the measures are part of a broader effort by Israeli occupation forces and settlers to expand settlements, destroy critical infrastructure, and increase pressure on Palestinian communities to leave their land.
