SAFA - The United Nations has warned that Israeli settler violence in the occupied West Bank has reached record levels this year, with increasingly frequent attacks on Palestinians fueling growing concerns over forced displacement.

The UN humanitarian coordinator for Palestine said Tuesday that settler violence has escalated sharply, while those responsible for attacks are rarely held accountable.

The official stressed the urgent need to ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice, warning that the lack of accountability is contributing to the continued escalation of violence across the occupied territory.

The UN also warned that Palestinians are increasingly being forced to leave their communities as settler attacks, intimidation and mounting pressure make it difficult for residents to remain in their homes and villages.

The humanitarian coordinator called for the situation in the West Bank to be treated as an emergency requiring immediate action, warning that continued Israeli violence and displacement could further deepen the humanitarian and security crisis.

The official urged immediate measures to protect Palestinian civilians, halt Israeli settler attacks and address the growing displacement crisis across the occupied West Bank.
