SAFA — Israeli authorities on Friday issued demolition notices for a residential building and three inhabited homes in the village of Kafr Sur, south of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, according to the village council.

Kafr Sur Village Council head Fawaz Hamza said the targeted properties are located in an area classified as “Area B” under the Oslo Accords. More than 80 Palestinians live in the affected homes and now face the threat of displacement.

Israeli authorities have increasingly issued demolition and stop-work orders against Palestinian homes and other structures across the occupied West Bank, often citing construction without Israeli-issued permits.

Palestinian officials say such measures restrict the ability of Palestinian communities to expand and contribute to efforts to alter the demographic and geographic landscape of the West Bank.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and settlers carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians and their property across the West Bank in July.

During the same month, 80 demolition operations targeted 165 structures, including 88 homes, while Israeli authorities issued an additional 34 demolition notices.

The commission also documented 11,074 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers during the first half of 2026, reflecting the growing scale of Israeli measures affecting Palestinians, their land and property.
