SAFA- At just 11, Ibrahim Al-Shaer is facing a severe health crisis after prolonged malnutrition and a series of medical complications caused his condition to deteriorate sharply, placing him at risk of life-threatening complications.

Ibrahim suffers from severe neurogenic bladder dysfunction, leaving him unable to urinate or defecate normally. He requires a surgically inserted catheter through his abdomen to drain urine, along with specialized injections every 10 days to facilitate bowel movements.

His condition has also caused severe dilation of his kidneys and ureters. Doctors have warned that the deterioration could progress to kidney failure, raising urgent concerns about irreversible damage to his organs.

His treatment needs are complicated by the limited availability of medicines, medical supplies, and specialized care in Gaza, where hospitals are struggling to provide adequate treatment for patients with complex conditions.

Ibrahim also suffers from severe nerve weakness on the right side of his body, affecting his mobility. The condition has caused shortening of his right foot and permanent weakness in both legs, leaving him unable to walk or move normally.

He now requires specialized medical care and continuous treatment that his family says is not adequately available in Gaza.

A Child Waiting for Treatment

For Ibrahim’s family, his illness has become a daily struggle marked by catheters, medications, and injections as his movement becomes increasingly limited and concerns over his deteriorating health intensify.

At an age when he should be attending school and spending time with other children, the 11-year-old instead spends his days undergoing treatment and coping with the effects of a condition that threatens his health and future.

His family is urgently seeking his medical evacuation from Gaza so he can receive specialized assessment and treatment unavailable inside the Strip.

For Ibrahim, time is critical. His family fears that any further deterioration could cause irreversible organ damage and leave him with even fewer treatment options.

The 11-year-old needs access to specialized medical care outside Gaza before his condition worsens and the risk of kidney failure becomes more imminent.
