SAFA- Gaza Civil Defense teams recovered the remains of 12 bodies on Saturday from beneath the rubble of a home destroyed by Israeli occupation forces in the Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
Abdullah Majdalawi, Civil Defense public relations director in Gaza City, said in a statement obtained by Safa News Agency that the remains were recovered from the Batniji family home in the Asqoula area of Zeitoun.
Majdalawi said Civil Defense teams then began searching for and recovering the bodies of victims beneath the rubble of the Maghrabi family home in the same area.
Civil Defense crews have recently intensified efforts to recover the bodies and remains of Palestinians trapped beneath destroyed buildings across Gaza. In early August, teams recovered 112 victims from the Abu Sharia and Hasayna families following an Israeli bombing of a residential area in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
Israel has carried out hundreds of massacres during the Gaza genocide, destroying residential buildings with families inside. More than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 174,000 injured since October 7, 2023.
Thousands of victims remain beneath the rubble across the Gaza Strip. Civil Defense crews continue recovery operations with rudimentary equipment amid Israeli restrictions on the entry of the heavy machinery and specialized equipment needed to reach victims buried beneath destroyed buildings.
