SAFA — German police arrested at least two people during a pro-Palestine demonstration in Berlin on Saturday as protesters demanded an end to Israel’s attacks on Gaza and Germany’s support for Israel.

Protesters gathered at Ernst-Reuter-Platz before marching through the German capital, carrying Palestinian flags and banners condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza and the German government’s support for Israel.

Demonstrators called for an end to German political and military support for Israel, an arms embargo, an end to the occupation and the reconstruction of Gaza.

Police intervened near Uhlandstraße subway station and detained at least two protesters. Despite the intervention, the march continued and later ended at Wittenbergplatz.

The demonstration came amid continuing pro-Palestine protests across Germany challenging Berlin’s political and military support for Israel during its war on Gaza.

According to Palestinian health authorities, at least 73,651 Palestinians have been killed and 174,592 injured in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, Israeli attacks have killed 1,344 Palestinians and injured 4,481 others, according to the latest figures.
