SAFA — Israeli occupation authorities on Sunday issued stop-work orders targeting several Palestinian structures and plots of land in the Jabal Ajram area of Al-Ma’ajeen, west of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

Local sources said Israeli forces raided the area and posted stop-work notices at a kindergarten owned by Palestinian resident Tariq Al-Majdalawi, the headquarters of the Hands of the Future Generation Association, and several privately owned plots of land.

The latest action against the association follows previous Israeli raids on its headquarters. Israeli forces raided the building on August 3, searched the premises and sealed it under a military order. They returned and searched the headquarters again on August 12 despite the closure order remaining in effect.

The Hands of the Future Generation Association is a Palestinian nonprofit organization established in 2005 and based in Jabal Ajram. It provides support to women, children and families facing difficult living conditions and carries out social and relief programs.

Continued Israeli Pressure on Area C

The latest orders come amid continued Israeli measures affecting Palestinian communities in Nablus Governorate, including raids, demolition and stop-work orders, movement restrictions and land confiscation, alongside escalating settler attacks, according to Palestinian sources.

Area C accounts for about 60% of the occupied West Bank and was placed under full Israeli civil and security control under the Oslo II interim arrangements. Palestinians face severe restrictions on construction and development in the area, with Israeli-issued building permits notoriously difficult to obtain.

Palestinian and international human rights organizations have repeatedly documented Israeli demolition and stop-work orders against Palestinian structures in Area C, alongside land confiscation and expanding illegal Israeli settlements.

Palestinians and rights groups warn that these policies restrict Palestinian development and contribute to displacement while facilitating the continued expansion of Israeli settlements across the occupied West Bank.
