SAFA — Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested Palestinian journalist Alaa al-Rimawi early Thursday after raiding his home in the al-Masayef neighborhood of al-Bireh, as Israeli forces carried out widespread raids and arrests across the occupied West Bank.

Al-Rimawi was taken to an undisclosed location, according to his family. His latest arrest comes less than a year after his release on October 7, 2025, following two years in Israeli administrative detention.

In Qalqilya governorate, IOF raided Hajjah, east of the city, searched dozens of homes and arrested at least 23 Palestinians. IOF soldiers also raided Baqat al-Hatab, east of Qalqilya.

In Nablus, IOF troops stormed al-Ain refugee camp after military vehicles entered through the Deir Sharaf checkpoint. Troops raided and searched homes, detained Palestinians for field interrogation and turned a residential home into a military post.

Several Palestinians were arrested during the raid, including a young woman and her father from the al-Masimi family. Israeli forces also closed roads surrounding the camp, while nearby private schools and kindergartens suspended classes for students’ safety.

Israeli forces also raided Kafr Qalil, south of Nablus, searching and ransacking several homes.

In Jenin governorate, IOF raided Silat al-Harithiya, al-Zababdeh and Ya’bad, searching homes and arresting brothers Karam and Joud Rafiq Badarna in Ya’bad.

Raids were also reported in Allar, Saida and Bal’a in Tulkarm governorate, as well as Birzeit and Kobar in the Ramallah area.

The raids extended to occupied Jerusalem, where Israeli forces searched homes in Shu’fat refugee camp and Anata. In Abu Dis, Israeli police forces detained dozens of young Palestinians for field interrogation inside the town’s club, according to local reports.

IOF also carried out raids in Bethlehem and Hebron as military incursions, home searches and arrests continued across the occupied West Bank.
