The Council on International Relations - Palestine, welcomed on Tuesday the statement of the 34th African Union summit that condemns the continued Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.

The council said in a statement reached Safa that “the union’s statement is a firm evidence of the failure of the Israeli attempts to penetrate the African solidarity with the Palestinians and it clarifies the continuation of the historical African solidarity with the Palestinian people's struggle against Israel.”

“The statement comes at a time when some Arab countries are rushing to normalize with Israel, stressing that all Israel’ attempts to gain legitimacy at the expense of the Palestinian people' rights and without ending the occupation of our lands and the return of refugees will ultimately fail,” the council indicated.

The African Union confirmed the continent's support for the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation.

The council strongly condemned the Israeli violence against the Palestinians, the building of illegal settlements, and the attempts to settle East Jerusalem.
