Yemen’s Streets Roar in Solidarity with Gaza

From Sana’a to Saada, Yemen’s cities erupted on Friday with mass rallies declaring unwavering support for the people of Gaza under relentless Israeli assault. Crowds filled the streets waving Palestinian flags, holding banners rejecting any form of normalisation with Israel, and pledging to stand firm against what they described as “enemy conspiracies.” The atmosphere was charged with defiance, as voices rose in chants demanding justice for Palestinians and an end to the blockade that has turned Gaza into a prison under siege.

Speakers stressed that the Palestinian struggle is not confined to the region but is a human cause that resonates far beyond Gaza’s borders. Many described it as a moral test for the world, urging continuous mobilisation and tangible action to support Palestinians facing starvation, displacement, and bombardment.

Following the rallies, Abdul Malik al-Houthi reaffirmed Yemen’s closure of the port of Umm al-Rashrash, historically known as Eilat, and announced new missile and drone strikes targeting Israel. These, he said, were acts of solidarity and retaliation, carried out in response to the ongoing atrocities in Gaza. For Yemenis on the streets, the message was clear: Gaza’s fight is their fight, and their resistance will not waver.
