Two Palestinians Die of Israeli Airstrike Wounds in Gaza, Including Medical Student

SAFA — Two Palestinians, including a female medical student, died Friday from wounds sustained in earlier Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City, as Israeli forces continued airstrikes, gunfire and demolition operations across the Gaza Strip despite an existing ceasefire agreement.

Local sources identified one of the victims as Sarah Abu Jiyab, a medical student at the Islamic University of Gaza and a resident of the al-Shati refugee camp in western Gaza City.

Abu Jiyab died from injuries sustained approximately one week earlier when an Israeli airstrike targeted the university campus.

The second victim, Nabil Hamad, succumbed to wounds sustained several days earlier in an Israeli attack on the al-Balakhiyah area of the al-Shati refugee camp.

Their deaths came amid reports of renewed Israeli military attacks in several areas of the Gaza Strip, raising concerns over continued violations of the ceasefire agreement.

Israeli Airstrikes and Gunfire Wound Several Palestinians

In northern Gaza, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Falouja area west of the Jabalia refugee camp, wounding several Palestinians, including one who sustained serious injuries.

In southern Gaza, a man and a woman were wounded by Israeli gunfire in the al-Satr and Hamad areas north of Khan Younis.

Another Palestinian was critically wounded in an Israeli drone attack south of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

Israeli warplanes also carried out an airstrike on the al-Karama neighborhood northwest of Gaza City, while Israeli forces conducted demolition operations east of Khan Younis.

Earlier Thursday, Israeli artillery shelled areas south of Khan Younis amid reports of heavy gunfire.

Five Palestinians, Including Child and Woman, Killed Thursday

The latest deaths followed a series of Israeli attacks on Thursday that killed five Palestinians, including a child and a woman, and wounded several others across the Gaza Strip.

According to a correspondent for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC), Mohammed al-Qishawi was killed Thursday evening in an Israeli drone strike targeting a group of Palestinians near Martyrs' Square in the al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

Medical sources at Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp confirmed that 12-year-old Adnan Tariq Adnan al-Qarnawi was shot and killed by Israeli forces east of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

Fadl Abdullah Salman Abu Mazyad was also killed Thursday evening in an Israeli drone strike near the municipality of az-Zawayda in central Gaza.

In southern Gaza, 54-year-old Noura Suleiman Mohammed Sheikh al-Eid was killed by Israeli gunfire in the Bir 19 area.

Another Palestinian, Abd Walid Matar, was killed when an Israeli drone struck a tent sheltering displaced families west of az-Zawayda in central Gaza.

The incidents underscore the continuing dangers facing Palestinian civilians, including children and displaced families, despite the ceasefire.

Israeli Military Operations Continue Despite Ceasefire

Israeli military operations have continued across the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 11, 2025.

According to Palestinian reports, Israeli forces have carried out repeated airstrikes, opened fire on civilians and conducted demolition operations in multiple areas of the territory.

The reported attacks have raised concerns about repeated violations of the agreement and the safety of Palestinians living near areas where Israeli troops remain deployed.

Gaza Health Ministry Reports 1,602 Killed Since Ceasefire

According to Gaza's Health Ministry, Israeli attacks have killed 1,602 Palestinians and wounded 5,799 others since the ceasefire took effect.

The ministry also reported that the bodies of 847 Palestinians were recovered during the same period.

The latest figures bring the total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023, to 74,618, while at least 175,925 others have been wounded, according to the ministry.

The figures reflect the continuing human toll of Israel's military operations and the severe humanitarian conditions facing Palestinians across the Gaza Strip.
