Palestinian prisoner faces harsh conditions in solitary confinement

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners  Affairs Committee reported that the Israeli authorities continue to isolate prisoner Wael Al-Jaghoub in solitary confinement cells in Israeli Megiddo Prison, with harsh and poor conditions.

The committee said in a statement that Al-Jaghoub has been isolated since the middle of last year and renewed his isolation in December 2020 for another six months. He is in a narrow room with poor ventilation and lighting.

It pointed out that the Israeli prison administration continues to isolate 8 prisoners in Megiddo Prison for different periods of time, with similar conditions in terms of bad and difficult conditions.

The prisoner Al-Jaghoub (43 years) was arrested in 2001 and sentenced to life imprisonment, and the total years of his detention to this day reach 25 years.
