The Israeli Foreign Minister, Gabi Ashkenazi, met on Tuesday with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, at the Karama crossing, west of Jordan.

The meeting touched on the opportunity to resume political negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, the Hebrew website Walla stated.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated that the meeting focused on developing joint trade cooperation, import and export, and water and tourism issues. Besides, the fight against Coronavirus and the challenges in the region were also addressed.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry stated, in the third meeting in the recent months, that Minister Safadi called on the resumption of peace negotiations, after resuming security coordination with the Palestinian Authority.
