Five martyrs and 177 demolished homes and facilities in February

A report issued by the Abdullah al-Hourani Center for Studies and Documentation stated that five martyrs were martyred during the past February, while Israel demolished 177 homes and facilities in the West Bank.

The report received by Safa on Wednesday stated that among the martyrs was an elderly woman, pointing out that the number of martyrs whose bodies were kept in the refrigerators of Israel increased to 71 bodies since the Israeli–Palestinian conflict (2015–16), in clear violation of international humanitarian law.

During February, the Israeli authorities arrested about 440 civilians in all the Palestinian territories, 3 of whom were on the borders of the Gaza Strip, according to the report.

Besides, Israel is holding about 4,500 prisoners in its prisons, including 140 children and 37 women.

Moreover, the Israeli bulldozers demolished 177 homes and facilities,which leads to an increase of 384% over the same period last year.

The demolition included the confiscation of 64 homes and 113 facilities, pointing out that last month witnessed the demolition of the village of Humsa al-Fawqa four consecutive times, as well as the self-demolition of 9 houses and a facilities, seven of them in the neighborhoods of Jerusalem and two in Hebron and Bethlehem. Israel demolished the house of the prisoner Mohammad Qabha in the village of Tura al-Gharbiya, west of Jenin, under the pretext of carrying out a commando operation.

During the past month, the Israeli forces have notified 84 homes and facilities to demolish and halt construction, restoration, and work on agricultural lands, according to the report.
