Israeli detention campaigns intended to interfere in and negatively affect the Palestinian elections, says Hamas

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said that the detention campaigns carried out by the Israeli occupation forces against the activists of the Islamic Bloc, Hamas student arm, are aimed at targeting the will of the Palestinian youth, who are an integral part of the forthcoming elections.

"These campaigns also intended to interfere in and negatively affect the Palestinian elections by targeting the effective and influential figures in various crucial fields and sectors," the movement added.

"We stress that achieving national consensus and partnership is a national priority; Hamas, which has made enormous sacrifices, will continue its efforts to rearrange the Palestinian political house on the basis of achieving partnership, ending the division, and setting up a comprehensive and national program to face off the Israeli occupation and settlement activity," it underlined.

The movement also called on all free people of the world and parliaments of democratic and friendly nations to impose sanctions on the Israeli occupation, which has been targeting the Palestinian democracy for years.
