Israel sentences prisoner from Bethlehem to 22 months imprisonment

Israeli Military Court on Tuesday sentenced the prisoner, Osaid Alddeen Abu Shaireh, from Aida camp in Bethlehem, to 22 months imprisonment and a fine of 2,000 Israeli shekels.

The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office stated that the Israeli forces re-arrested the ex-prisoner Abu Shaireh on June 6, 2020, after raiding his house in Aida camp and transferred him to the investigation at the Etzion detention center, which lasted for a month before transferring him to the Negev desert prison.

The Israeli intelligence charged the prisoner Abu Shaireh with several charges, most notably “belonging to a hostile organization, incitement, and attempting to disturb security.” After postponing his trial 8 times, the Israeli court issued a prison sentence for 22 months, of which he has so far spent 9 months.

It is not the first time for Abu Shaireh to be detained but was previously arrested and spent 10 months in the Israeli prisons.
