Israel carries out demolitions in Jabal Al Mukaber and Shuafat

Bulldozers of Israel municipality on Wednesday demolished two houses, a floor, and concrete pillars in Jabal Mukaber and the Shuafat refugee camp in Jerusalem.

Khalid Ibrahim al-Abbasi told Safa that the Israeli forces surrounded the place and proceeded to demolish the building in which he and his brother lived since 2016.

Khalid stated that he had received the demolition order for the building in the al-Sala 'neighborhood in Jabal al-Mukaber since 2016 and his lawyer managed to delay the demolition order for several years.

Israeli municipality imposed on him a building violation worth about 70,000 Israeli shekels in 2019, and then received on September 15, 2020, a decision to vacate the building, with his brother, within 21 days, Khalid added.

Israel municipality insisted on demolishing the building, although he submitted a request for a license, and worked on organizing 80 dunums in the place.

Khaled, his wife, his two children aged 5 years and 7 months, his brother Munir and his wife, and their one-week-old child, live in the two-story building, as each floor is 100 square meters and each floor includes 3 rooms and their accessories.

He described the Israel municipality's actions as a brutal and far-fetched policy aimed at displacing the Jerusalemites from Jerusalem.

Besides, Israeli bulldozers demolished floors and concrete pillars this morning in the Ras Khamis neighborhood of Shuafat Camp in occupied Jerusalem.

Mahmoud Alqam told Safa that he was surprised by the Israeli forces surrounding the place, and proceeding to demolish the floors and pillars, without prior warning.

Alqam indicated that he had self-demolished a room in the place to implement the Israel municipality's decision and sent photos of the demolition to the municipality.

Israel municipality’s bulldozers were not satisfied with demolishing the floors and pillars, rather, the land was bulldozed and the surrounding wall was demolished, and about 20 fruit trees in the place were uprooted.

He pointed out that he built the floor about two months ago, with an area of 100 square meters and that he intended to build a house in the place to live in it with his wife and 5 children, the eldest is 16 years old and the youngest is 6 months.
