Ismail Haniyeh, Head of Hamas office, appreciated the ex-prisoner Mansour Al-Shahateet for his resistance in the Israeli prisons and considered him a champion. 

Haniyeh phoned Mansour's father to appreciate him and to express solidarity with his son who has been suffering from torture and solitary confinement for 17 years. 

"Mansour was and will remain a Palestinian ideal who sacrificed for his country and its freedom," Haniyeh said. 

He expressed his entire readiness to stand beside Mansour to overcome this plight caused by Israel's brutality. 

Mansour's father thanked Haniyeh for his call, thanked the Hamas movement and its resistance in confronting the Israeli occupation, and appreciated Haniyeh's support to Mansour.
