The Kuwaiti Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, reaffirmed his country’s principled and firm position in supporting the Palestinian people in their struggle to achieve their legitimate rights.
Sabah told the General Debate of the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly via video link today that “the Palestinian cause still has a central, historical and pivotal place in our Arab and Islamic worlds.”
In addition, he stressed the importance of resuming efforts to relaunch negotiations to reach a just and comprehensive peace, based on the terms of reference of the peace process, the resolutions of the international community, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He pointed out serious negotiations should lead to ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the borders before June 4, 1967.
