Israel sentences Jerusalemite prisoner to 6 years imprisonment


The Israeli Court in Jerusalem on Tuesday sentenced the young man, Mohammad Riyad Abu Tayeh, from the Ain al-Luza neighborhood in the town of Silwan, to six years imprisonment.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center reported that the young man, Abu Tayeh, was arrested on August 9, 2017, after storming his house in Silwan, and he is currently in Raymond prison.

The prisoner Abu Tayeh was subjected to interrogation in the Al-Maskobiyya detention center, west of the city. Besides, his trial was postponed several times.

The prisoner was subjected to abuse after announcing a hunger strike and was transferred to isolation adjacent to the criminal detainees' sections.
